Joyce Manor (LA Union Station. January 20, 2018)

Joyce Manor

On a cool Saturday evening,  hundreds of people headed to Union Station in Los Angeles. But it wasn’t just to access the hub and head off somewhere (well… not unless you were one of the thousands participating in the Women’s March earlier that day)… The Los Angeles landmark played host to 2 fully packed Joyce Manor shows!

Animal Style Records Ten Year Anniversary Show (Chain Reaction. December 17, 2017)

ASR - 007

Ten years is a long time. And when you think about music and its ever-changing landscape, ten years can seem even longer. For an independent record label like Animal Style Records, 10 years means a lot of bands, albums, and friendships. This was all put on display for excited fans packed into the famed Chain Reaction. The night saw stellar performances by Northbound, Sundressed, We are the Union, Mixtapes (reuniting for this special occasion), and Daggermouth.

Enjoy some photos after the jump!

With vocal guests including Angelo Moore of Fishbone and Greg Lee of Hepcat, you know the crowd was moving. I didn’t shoot that much (hey, I gotta dance, too!) but photos are after the jump!

Motion City Soundtrack (HOB Anaheim. May 11, 2016)

Motion City SoundtrackI celebrated my 30th birthday this past January. A quiet celebration at home reminded me that I’m not in high school anymore: I don’t get wild every weekend, my knees hurt at the end of the day, my show attendance has (unfortunately) decreased, and bands I listened to are hanging it up. Unfortunately, one of those bands is Motion City Soundtrack. A completely sold out (and packed to the brim) House of Blues was a great send-off for one of the band’s last southern California shows.

“Commit This to Memory” 10th Anniversary Tour (HOB Anaheim. February 12, 2015)

Motion City Soundtrack

I know some people are getting sick of the anniversary or reunion tour thing, but it’s a good reminder for many of why they fell in love with a band or album X-amount of years ago. A sold-out show for Motion City Soundtrack’s 10-year anniversary of “Commit This to Memory” is a great example of just that.
