New Found Glory

Over ten years of rocking out and they still manage to sell out venues. New Found Glory proved to the packed up House of Blues of Anaheim that they haven’t lost a single step over the years. In fact, they’ve only gotten better.

Hot off the release of their newest album Not Without a Fight on Epitaph Records, New Found Glory slid onto the stage in front of a full house of anxious fans. There have only been a few times where I found it hard to move around in this venue and this was definitely one of those nights! We packed the venue and NFG packed on the hits.

NFG took command of the stage from the second they came on and the crowd went wild from start to finish. The fans in the crowd represented every age group you could think of. This testament to the band’s multi-generation appeal was met with an equally wide selection from their extensive catalogue of songs.

The material from the band’s latest album got the crowd moving and singing along. Fists were pumping in the air with songs like “Truck Stop Blues” and “Don’t Let Her Pull You Down”. Older jams like “Hit or Miss” and “Dressed to Kill” had the entire venue in a frenzy of fists, voices, and crowd surfers.

Whether it be in interviews or in their Tip of the Iceberg EP on Bridge 9 records, New Found Glory have always pointed out their hardcore music roots. It definitely shows in their performance as both Jordan and Chad took any opportunity to jump off the stage to get face-to-face with fans. Crowd surfers did their best to get on the microphone and sing along with the musical superheroes.

New Found Glory finished out the night with “My Friends Over You”. It’s been their traditional show-ender, so fans in the know were quick to jump up and crowd surf to the front and get out that last scream into the microphone before the curtains closed.

Anaheim was only the third stop on the tour, so there’s still time to see New Found Glory kick it live on stage. If you’ve ever seen them before you know that a New Found Glory show is like watching a friend’s band live. They always try their best to include the audience as if they were playing for their closest friends and family. They are sincere in their words and definitely show their appreciation for the loyalty of their fans. Their new material is abosultely amazing and it’s even better live, so make sure you catch them on this tour!
